Lucas County Treasurer Announces Tax Certificate Sale RFP
The Treasurer's Office is seeking qualified purchasers for a one-time, all-or-nothing negotiated sale of the eligible certificate pool.
Lucas County Treasurer Lindsay M. Webb has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the negotiated sale of delinquent real property tax certificates.
This marks the County's first tax certificate sale in 20 years. The proposed sale includes 398 parcels representing approximately $3.64 million in delinquent property taxes as of October 23, 2026. This initial tranche is focused on delinquent properties owned by individuals and entities located outside Lucas County, reflecting the Treasurer's deliberate approach to reintroducing tax certificate sales while protecting local property owners.
The Treasurer's Office is seeking qualified purchasers for a one-time, all-or-nothing negotiated sale of the eligible certificate pool. The certificates have a four-year term, and the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office will handle foreclosure proceedings.
