Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Analyst to support acquisition and asset management operations within the tax lien and tax deed space. This role is responsible for ingesting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from county sources to support bidding decisions, underwriting, and ongoing portfolio management.

This position is ideal for someone comfortable working with raw data, identifying inconsistencies, and producing clean, actionable datasets used by investment and operations teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Import and process county tax lien and tax deed datasets (delinquent tax rolls, auction lists, redemption files)
  • Clean, standardize, and validate data across multiple sources (county records, title data, internal systems)
  • Analyze key data points including assessed value, tax amounts, property type, ownership, and lien status
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies such as duplicate records, missing fields, or inconsistent formatting
  • Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets models for bidding, tracking, and portfolio analysis
  • Prepare filtered datasets based on investment criteria (geography, lien size, risk flags, etc.)
  • Support creation of bid lists, asset summaries, and performance reports
  • Maintain organized data repositories and ensure version control across files
  • Collaborate with acquisitions and asset management teams to support decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and consistency
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets (thousands of records)
  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify patterns, errors, and outliers
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines in a remote environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with tax lien or tax deed data
  • Background in real estate, financial analysis, or data processing
  • Familiarity with county data formats, parcel data, or title-related information
  • Experience with CSV imports, bulk data handling, or basic data automation
